What is a dream map and why you need one?
As you probably know, I’m a sucker for New Year’s rituals and anything that helps me keep the motivation going and also helps me accomplish my goals. That’s why I’m always saying how important it is to set goals and go after them, otherwise the years will pass you by and everything will be the same. And you don’t want that, right?
One of the “rituals” or let’s just say tools that guide me in the beginning of the year, is my DREAM MAP! If you don’t know what that is, it’s a vision board where you actually get to write your goals and dreams that you want to accomplish this year. It looks like this:
Before you start filling out, here’s how I suggest doing it.
1. Sit quietly for a few minutes, take deep breathes and imagine how you want to feel by the end of 2020 once you have accomplished all your goals. Think about what’s a priority for this year, what would make you so much happy you can’t even control yourself but smile just with that thought. What would change? How do you want your career, your life, your relationships to look like?
Who do you need to be in order to conquer all of it?
2. Get a blank page and start writing everything that comes to mind after you meditated. Be specific as much as you can.
3. Now it’s time to utilize your free printable.
Write your name in the heart and start filling out the categories according to what you wrote before. While you are writing, think about what these goals mean to you, why you want to attain them and how are you going to feel after accomplishing them.
4. Make it personal.
You can include pictures, quotes, or anything that resonates with you and motivate you to go after all of these goals. This way, you’ll get the motivation to keep going even when things get challenging.
5. Hang it on your wall or leave somewhere where you can see it all the time.
I punched mine and inserted in my planner so I can look at every time I need to remember why I’m working so hard and what will come out of it.
Here's our dream map, you can save and print it or just copy if you feel crafty!
